How Does Scoring Happen In Kabaddi?

The scoring part in Kabaddi is totally simple. Because, teams score one point for each opponent that they try harder to put outside the game. But putting such an opponent out and scoring a point is done in totally different ways. When attacking, this is totally done by the raider touching the opposition members, putting all them out. However, when this game is played on the defending side, it is done by preventing the raider returning to their own half.

Also, the person who raids can easily earn an extra point by successfully touching the bonus line in the opposition’s half. Three bonus points are also available to a team when all of their other relative opponents are also declared out. And a point is also available t any part of an opposing team member’s body goes completely outside of the boundary.

How Does Winning Come In Kabaddi?

Whenever the match has been ended, the team with almost a greater number of points would be declared a winner. But at the end of the game, both teams already have the same amount of points. This game is deemed to be a draw completely.

There are some rules to follow inside this game of kabaddi. In order to play it more genuinely, you have to follow these rules strictly. These rules are given as follows.

Nature Of Kabaddi:

Due to the reason that kabaddi has a high physical natura, the matches played inside it would be categorized and played according to the age and weight categories.

Six Officials:

In any official kabaddi match, there are totally six officials looking after of the matches. These include a referee, two assistant scorers, a scorer and total two umpires.

Duration Of The Match:

For each match, there is a duration of two halves of 20 minutes with a half time break of having 5 minutes.

Tossing A Coin:

Whenever a match is started, a coin is tossed with the winner having the choices as to whether to have a first raid or not.

But in the second half of the match, the team that did not raid first shall begin the second half with a raid.

Winning A Point:

To win a point while raiding, the raider must take a full breath and run into the opposition’s half. He has to tag one or more members of the opposing team and then return to their own half of the pitch before he inhales again.

Yelling The Word Kabaddi:

In order to prove that there is no breath that has been taken, the rider must continue to repeatedly yelling the word Kabaddi. But if the player fails to do that even for just a single moment, it means the rider should have to return to their own side of the court.

And such thing is supposed to happen without any points. Plus, the opposite team is awarded a point for a successful defense play while playing this game of kabaddi.

Taking Turns:

Each team in kabaddi matches will take turns in defending and raiding. Following the halftime, the two teams switch sides of the court. And the team who defended the first in the first half begin the second half by raiding.
