Equipment Inside The Shuffleboard:

Here, the court is designed in such a way that it has the scoring triangles at either end. Here, the players must stand at least six feet further while playing towards the other end. This triangle has a unique division with different points. This division is given as follows.

  • The tip point zone has 10 points. This is nearest to the players.
  • Then comes eight and then seven points. After that, there comes a letter two with the central division creating a left and the right area. However, towards the base side of the triangle is the “10 off,” which is called a penalty zone.

In equipment, the players use a paddle-like stick called a tang to propel those pucks. These pucks are also called biscuits. And these biscuits must be propelled towards the scoring triangle.

This tang or cue propelling these biscuits must not be longer than 6fet and 3 inches. After deciding who will go first by tossing a coin, this game uses the yellow biscuits.

The second player uses black. These biscuits are supposed to be six inches in their diameter. Plus, they shouldn’t be more than 1 inch thick.

How To Score In Shuffleboard?

Players inside this game try their best to send those biscuits into the scoring zones to gain more points. The scores only start counting when all the eight (four each) pucks get shotted. In this case, the puck must enter the scoring zone wholly to register. Those who touch the line will not come under counting at all.

The game has a legal aim where you can shoot your own shots at the player’s puck, having a goal in your mind to remove those completely from the scoring zone. Or a player may move them to the 10 Off zone  

Because sending your opponent player to this zone will charge him a penalty of minus 10 points. However, if your puck is on the 10-off line, you will receive a penalty of almost five points.

Moreover, losing 10 points will also occur if you accidentally or intentionally send the biscuit or puck off the court. It also includes touching the sideline.

How Does Winning Happen Inside Shuffleboard?

Inside Shuffleboard, the winner is ultimately the person who is the first one to reach a pre-defined target. This target is usually 75 points. The one with more scores at the end of 10 complete rounds will also be the winner.

It doesn’t matter who comes first. However, if both payers or the sides manage to reach the level of 75 points, then the player with the highest number of scores shall be called the ultimate winner.

No Hook Shots Are Allowed:

In the game, there are no hook shots that are allowed. However, a smooth and continuous forward motion must be used to shoot the puck.

Penalty:

If a player tries or directly plays the other player’s disc, he will receive a 10-point penalty.

Waiting:

One player must wait until the proceeding player’s biscuit gets stationary before playing their own shot.

Beginning Of The Plays:

The plays inside this shuffleboard game ultimately begin at the alternating ends. In this way, the player has to start this game at the end of the court where the previous game was finished. This is the rule to follow for starting according to the game’s standard.
